Seven Quick Tips for Parents

1. Encourage and praise your child’s educational achievements.
2. Instill the value that a high school education is an absolute essential (“the bare minimum”). Education gives people more options and economic power throughout life.
3. Teach by example that lifelong learning should be embraced as a way to make quality of life better.
4. Get involved with your child’s school PTO or PTA. If the PTO/A is inactive, ask the school principal for guidance in making it active.
5. Always attend your child’s parent-teacher conferences and maintain regular communication with teacher(s).
6. Volunteer at a local school.
7. Sign up to receive and watch out for school announcements.
